FATHER OF CANBERRA

It being Father's Day, I thought it would be appropriate to remind people of who is referred to as the "father of Canberra". John Gale (1831-1929)(bio) was a prominent journalist in Queanbeyan (a bordering town of present day Canberra) and a vocal supporter of the Canberra region as the site for the new Federal Capital of Australia.
