THE WANNIASSA BULL PADDOCK

A visit today to see the old Athllon Homestead site in the modern day suburb of Gowrie. There is really nothing there to check on. Nothing much to see there today apart from a border of trees where the homestead once stood and an old fence post with an iron fixture. These are unlikely to be a target for vandalism.

In this little video I took today I try to relate the history of this fragment of Canberra's rural history following the Wanniassa bull paddock's ownership by three men over 140 years...

The story starts in 1836...
